11/28/04: Our band has shit going on, and each of us have our own shit that we have to deal with. After all this shit is over with, we will get back on with gigs and everything, but we did work on some new songs. So just be patient so we can have a good return so we wont have poeple calling us wannabes.

10/10/04: Awesome show at the outhouse last night to all the bands that played. MIA just blew us away again and we are going to have to step it up. Sometime in November or december we will have our next gig probably at the outhouse or at this place ( forget what its called ) or we will just do two gigs in one month.

10/3/04: The site has a new format and looks pretty good, at least better than the last one... . The band also now is on purevolume at www.purevolume.com/scrimshawnj , its not like we are copying other bands... . There are two live sample songs on there. John is going to get back to getting advanced guitar lessons to learn more chords and we may have a gig again in 2-3 months. The band also made-up two more songs last night. Thats all for now.

9/30/04: So far nothing new except a picture of John acting like an idiot in the biography section. The band will soon have a band picture up and maybe a new site format. We may fix up a gig sometime, but the next time we actually have one wont be for a month or more. Hopefully someday people wont call us wannabes...

9/15/04: Welp, there has been no practice since school started. We just want to take it easy for awhile and regroup our band and make more lyrics. You can count on us doing a Nirvana cover soon dammit! Our new stuff will be more melodic or however you spell medolic, but there will be the metal material there, actually our new songs might be harder, just more melodic, and we might also do Nirvana type songs because I ( John ) like Nirvana. Dont worry next gig we will be more organized...

9/3/04: Awesome gig guys!!!!!!!!!! The beginning, Duality, the ad libbing, the star wars and a tremendous ending! Everybody was cheering for us, i think. Next gig we will have anthony and our newer better songs!!!!!!!! We have learned a very valuable lesson and its something.

8/21/04: Ok we are not breaking up and we have a gig and a new guitarist! The gig will be at Obsessions and call me at 973 598 1421 for the tickets or aim me at johnexel29 or e-mail me at dbzexel@msn.com. MIA and Treason will be there and possibly there will be more bands comming like NERO or Tinted Black. OUr new guitarist is Anthony Collona and we hear he is good. Welp cya all on the 3rd of sept. if your going to Obsessions.

8/13/04: It seems there may not be a gig in the near future, which means we might break up. At least Im thinking of leaving ( John ). But then again I may not leave, but if my drummer and bassist are reading this, they are probably going " wha?!?!?!" right now.

7/26/04: Right now it seems that another band took our name!!!!! But screw them! We had our name first.....I think. EIther way, even if we get into a copyright situation we are adding an X to scrimshaw! Oh, and theres gonna be a gig in late august or early september. So far no practices with the full band meaning no new songs because someone is at camp....... . Still looking for a new lead singer or if not lead singer a new guitarist, but if we dont find one we dont find one.

7/16/04: Well, we have now mastered allot of covers and are going to cover allot more songs and make up more originals. So far we have done " Aerials- System of a down", " Time is running out- Muse". " Party Hard- Andrew WK", and " Someone Somebody- Korn", and maybe we will get to " Jump The F*** up- Soulfly ft. Cory from slipknot". Thats it for now, and we will get to another gig sooner or later.

7/4/04: As you can see, I put up a mini flash episode, if you think it was good, plz write that its good on the website. If as many as 4 people do, I will make a mini series and a music video of us with macromedia flash ( it will be with our music too ). The band has mastered " Time is running out" by The Muse, and now we are now lazy bums waiting for a gig.

6/27/04: Welp, its summer, I should be happy, but it just doesnt feel right when its now here. The band has been loafing around and hasnt practiced since our first gig, but we will getr off our lazy butts and make more songs. We are also planning to do a cover of " Time is running out" by The Muse. We also found out we can do " Duality" by slipknot with one guitar, but it wont have the 2nd guitar enhancement. Still looking for another guitarist... . CHeck out the guestbook! We have like 3-4 good reviews!!! For us, it is an accomplishment. We are also planning to have a Demo by July. This is just to test if people like us or not.The band has been around for 4-5 months now actually playing together ( 8-9 months if you count the days that we just decided to make a band, but we didnt think we would actually practice ). Probably wont do any more gigs for awhile.

6/17/04: Woah!!!! I have not updated in a long while!!!!!!!! Well, we did have our first so call gig in front of 20 people which went pretty other than the fact that we only played 3 songs ( ......Chris we better play more songs next time! ). We got good reviews, but now we are making more better stuff so poeple who like other kinds of rock stuff can like our type of music ( like we will put melody into our songs ). Well, we will try to play somewhere sometime.

6/1/04: Its JUNEEEE!!!!!!! Schools almost over!!!! Well, we are basically only doing 1 gig this summer, but we will make a demo during july or so. We also put new background music from slipknot of course and thats it for now, goodbye.

5/24/04: I just have to say, the bands at the outhouse were awesome, and MIA just blew me away. Looks like we have to step up on stuff in our songs.... . So we are gonna work harder on our practices with our new guitarist and see what happens. To be honest, only 2-3 of our songs can compare with the bands at the outhouse, but we will make better songs and remake some. It looks like we are going to the end of year show and this time we really are going!!!! lol

5/21/04: Ok....... we have changed our minds again about the end of year thing. I guess we are not going. We decided to make a demo in the summer and then have a gig at the new outhouse next year. I mean, its too late in the year to try to make the band known, so we might just go to the party or somtin, but wateva. And yes Roger Yang is not in the band.

5/16/03: Well............ its been a bad weekend for scrimshaw. Our practice was cancelled and we ( I ) are( am ) planning to kick out Roger Yang cause hes doing nothing. As mostly everyone knows yotp is breaking up, so no show with them. Welp, I mean we could try to make a gig with a different band or we wait till highschool for a gig at the new outhouse. Its either that, or we split our ways without anyone knowing about us and join different bands, but thats a last resort.

5/9/04: Since my band is very lazy right now, we havent had a practice with roger yet, but we will next weekend. Wow, is it almost June already?!?!? You have got to check out some of these highschool bands. Just go to livewires homepage in the links page and in there links page, some of the bands have sample songs which are awesome.

5/5/04: We have a new band member ( no not a guitarist )! We have a new keyboardist! The first ones in school to ever have one and first to ever experiment with the sounds! His name is ROGER YANG...... YES! ROGER YANG! Since he can also play the violin, we will try to let him play that also in some songs, he is also effects. Since we do have time till June comes up, we will try to put in violin and keryboard parts in some songs.......... we still dont have a rep yet :( , but we will soon!..... I hope. Tryng to make a date with YOTP at the outhouse, so yeah.

5/3/04: June '04 will be our month. We must get our rep before highschool so in June we will have like 3-4 gigs we are gonna plan. It still depends cause chris has some problems with that kid who is holding the end of year party, but rather than that we will try to set up a date at the outhouse, we may even plan two gigs at the outhouse in June. Allot of work in one month, lol. Our songs are basically like all around rock, some songs are more mettaly, and some songs are more soft, but then again I like using a drop D tuning power chord and go crazy with that, then do something crazy with my fingers. I do it all with a 99 dollar strat look-alike that doesnt even have a double humbucker ^_^. I will get a new guitar though. You can tell Im bored and Im typing this down for the fun of it. Well...... thats it I guess. Is that picture of my kitten still in the picture section?

4/30/04: Did I spell progressing wrong last update? Well watever. This really is not an update, because im just bored, but this is an update technically. Well, I did my big science presentation that gave me a scare ( out of six groups, my group was picked! ) and yeah.......... . We got more songs, and still waiting for UPS to come and drop off my music equipment. As for the end-of-the-year party goes, we might not go, because Chris has problems with this webber guy. We will try to set up a date for the outhouse though. Crap, all of us 8th graders have to be freshmen next year ( :( sixth grade all over again ).

4/26/04: :) We have 6 songs that we have completed ( just need to add the lyrics to some songs and then we will be all set ). The band thinks we are ready for a gig right now, its just we need to get an ap system, ( me ) a 100 watt amp, and 2 mic stands with two mics. And all this stuff will be bought in June, and we will be all set. Thank god eli is willing to buy the ap system, but looks like im spending 500 somtin on the rest of the equipment.So yeah, like in June we are gonna play at some graduation party that chris is tellin me about, and maybe at the outhouse if it isnt closed after June 12th.

3/30/04: Well, we decided to stay as a three man band for now. If a new guitarist comes our way we will consider. WE HAVE A GUESTBOOK! I REPEAT, WE HAVE A GUESTBOOK NOW! Plz dont be too annoying in the guestbook . I also added a song eli wanted me to up for the home pages back ground, soooo........... thats it for now i guess. Oh yeah, we are really starting on getting to practices now. So far we are practicing once a week, and we have practiced twice so far.

3/27/04: The band has pulled off two practices, and we sound pretty good so far. We are working on two of our own songs that we practiced, and we are also working to cover "Enter Sandman" by Mettalica, because its a fairly easy song, yet it sounds good. Even though its very cheap, and easy, we will just for fun, do " Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvanah. Sooner or later we will try to do a Korn song when Eli gets a 5 string base guitar ( thats if he ever gets one ). Maybe like some time really soon ( like next practice ) we will do somtin by Spineshank.

3/15/04: I took off the background music, cause they were not really perfect, so............. yeah. If your a freaken guitarist that listens to hard punk, metal, hard rock, or modern rock, plz email me at dbzexel@msn.com ( pretty cheezy e-mail address, had it for 5 years ). So like, I mean i can do the songs my self on the guitar, but it would be better if we had 2 guitarists.

3/9/04: This is the new Scrimshaw website with all new format, and the band has improved bit by bit. We are supposed to have our first practice during the weekend of this week! Soon after we make 3-4 GOOD songs during the weekend, we will soon right after fix up a gig! I mean I have like 12 songs, but they are only me and my guitar. Our theme also has changed, even though i dont think we even had a theme. Oh, and sorry ( not bein mean ) Peter, your not in the band.
